Happiness is...growing a garden and actually being able to eat from it.
The growing is so different here in the desert southwest.  We don't have the usual 4 seasons with the summer growing season.  We actually can have two growing seasons--winter and spring.  In the past we have had pretty good luck with growing in the ground.  Since we have lived here and are just renting and there isn't place for a garden really, so we made grow boxes.  We have struggled for four years with a lot of effort and very little "fruits from our labors".  This year Chet put in a watering system for the grow boxes and we are actually harvesting and enjoying all kinds of veggies.  I love the freshness, the convenience and most of all the feeling of knowing that we did this.
